The floors are now installed and I have to say that I am very impressed with US Hardwood and Carpet. The owner (Herminio) is very personable, caring, honest, and trustworthy. His crew is also not only trustworthy,  but also hardworking and careful. The wood (and the installation) was high quality, beautiful, and very competitively priced. What more could you ask for?

On the first day, the crew carefully removed our baseboards so they can minimize the damage to the walls and the baseboards themselves. After removing the existing flooring, they thoroughly cleaned the floors so that the glue can adhere properly to our concrete slab. They also installed the engineered wood very carefully, making sure that each piece was not exactly aligned with another (which would give the floors an awkward appearance). After they were done with the floors, they replaced the baseboards exactly where they should go. Our floors are beautiful, thanks to the high quality installation and product provided by US Hardwood and Carpet! The floors look like a million dollars and I can't believe I was able to get them installed at such a competitive price.

LVP Install

These guys were fantastic to work with, start to finish! I went into their showroom in Santa Clara where Rex helped me go through different Engineered Harwood floors, Luxury Vinyl Plans and underlayment with expertise and patience. Once I picked the floor sample I liked best he offered to let me take it home and see how the color looked in different lighting to ensure it was really the right fit!

Then I heard from Alexis right away to schedule the in home consult and get the project sized. Working with him on contracts and project coordination was super smooth.

Elmer and Jose were my installers who did an amazing job! They showed up on time ready to take care of business every day. They answered all my questions, are very knowledgeable on their craft. I am still super impressed with their efficiency and high quality work.

Los Altos Wood Install

As a hard-core do-it-yourselfer, I really admire US Hardwood and Carpet's unique inventory, good prices and service.
I have visited all the showrooms in the San Jose area and they all carry pretty much the same inventory from the same manufacturers. But this store had some unique flooring from non-mainstream manufacturers - the kind of specialized products that you can usually only get by paying an interior designer.  
I ordered 1000 sq feet of engineered handscraped 7.5" wide white oak with an oil finish for a great price.  Yes, they were even able to get solid 7.5" white oak, but it was unfinished and I needed finished.   Delivery from the manufacturer took a while, but once it arrived, Herminio jumped through hoops (had to hire out a special driver) to make sure it was delivered to my house within a week of arriving.  
Later, when I needed trim pieces, I came in with an idea based on limited understanding of what I could get (I thought you could only get trim in 7' sections) but Herminio made sure he understood what I needed and set me up with better trim pieces (12' sections!) at a great price.

I can't really imagine a better experience for a do-it-yourselfer.

Flooring Materials

Worked with Eric from start to finish to redo the floors through out my condo.  He provided excellent suggestions on flooring materials, colors, style as well as very fair pricing.  Better, faster and greater value that working with a big box.  Would definitely use them again and highly recommend them.

They are also one of the very few companies in this field that accept online debit/credit card payments and it was super convenient! I would highly recommend them

LVP Install Santa Clara

The US Hardwood and Carpet team helped us to demo our existing tile and carpet + install new tile and LVP for 3,000+ sq ft home. Everything was done really well including upgrading our baseboards across the entire home.

There were priced competitively and significantly
cheaper than large retail flooring companies.

They also did a great job with working around the kitchen island and added the required stair nose to give the staircase a great finish with LVP.

This shop is where you need to go for your flooring needs! We spoke with a 5 different stores and this place the BEST place for pricing, help and friendliness!! Flooring is expensive and the choices are endless, trust me, come here first and compare how they treat you like family. This place beats other stores.

Herminio was so helpful and cared to talk to us about different flooring instead of just letting us walk around confused, he answered all our questions patiently.

Hardwood Install San Mateo

This review is for Alexis at US Hardwood and Carpet who helped us navigate a pretty sticky situation. Our first installation of engineered wood went flawlessly however upon moving in, the floor that we had installed was splintering like crazy. It was pretty significant and not just on the knots of the wood, it was almost 60% of the seams were splintering. We have a small toddler and were extremely concerned with our new floors having this issue. He did in fact get a splinter at one point and his pants were ripped when he was crawling around.

We immediately contacted Alexis about the wood. He took the time to visit our home multiple times and in his assessment, there was a manufacturing error with the wood. He went above and beyond helping us contact the manufacturer to get the floor replaced. In the end, even though we went through some unfortunate things, we were extremely happy with US Hardwood and Carpet, and especially Alexis.

Carpet Install San Jose

I purchased flooring from US Hardwood and Carpet to replace all of the carpet in my home with hardwood. I found US Hardwood and Carpet to have the best price per sq ft for a specific product/finish that I was looking to purchase by a fairly significant margin (it pays to shop around). The flooring and matching stair nosings came in and everything was in perfect shape. Since I am primarily DIY-ing the renovation project, I can't comment on the installation services or delivery, but I hear they are good.

The owner (Herminio) has been pleasant to work with and I feel that he has a lot of pride in providing great customer service. This place is also great if you need a small batch of flooring to redo single rooms or use for an accent wall since they carry a small selection of overruns/returns of carpet and wood flooring that are available for purchase, just ask the salesperson.

I plan to use them again when I'm ready to replace the bedroom carpets

Bay Area Flooring Rennovation

Herminio is awesome. He helped me pick the right flooring material and color for my bathroom project. I originally picked something different but once I showed him pictures of my bathroom, he gave me options that worked much better in terms of aesthetics and durability. He also gave me on-target advice on the right way to finish off the project with the right baseboard type and trim.

I opted for Herminio's team to do the installation and I found that he was very responsive in following up on materials availability and scheduling of work. He showed up right on time and his crew was friendly, did a professional job, and cleaned up the area afterwards so it was spotless.

Exotic Hardwood Install Los Gatos

The boss is really nice and sold me 1100 sqft Brazilian cherry solid hardwood floor with a fair price. I compared the price between three floor shops. US hardwood is the most honest one about price. They gave the lowest price the first time and would even be able to give extra 100 dollar discount on that!
When I ran into an issue in my project(my contractor threw away a few remaining wood as garbage and we need one last piece of wood to complete the project). The boss gave me his sample wood for free. Save my project several days!!!

Bay Area Kitchen Remodel

It is a pleasure to write a reference for US Hardwood and carpet. The project started with a reconstruction after a leak in the kitchen which led to mold remediation by the insurance. US Hardwood and Carpet is one of several companies we interviewed for the project. We reached out to US Hardwood and Carpet for the hardwood floor reconstruction. Alexis Bustos (Manager) came to review the project and to develop a quote. Alexis was very thorough in his evaluation and is very detail oriented. (His attention to every detail even as he was preparing the quote stood out uniquely among all the quotations we received at the preliminary stage. This was the overwhelming reason for us to choose US Hardwood and Carpet. Moreover, Alexis’s quotation was one of the best (not only in cost but also in the work schedule). We also needed carpentry, drywall work, plumbing and countertop work to accompany the floor repair. Alexis gave us great references for those as well. In addition, we hired him to coordinate the whole project. As the project began, we included installation of handrails in our steps and carpeting of the 2nd floor. Alexis did a phenomenal job in overseeing everything. He was at the site almost every day (many times both at the beginning and the end of the day) to review the progress and adjust the schedule / workers as an when needed. He is extremely friendly and gave us many options (and associated costs) to choose from at every stage. At the end of every stage, the site was cleaned, and the furniture moved back in place. We give them 5 stars with no reservation.

One of those rare stores where what is said is what is meant.  We found this store almost by accident, and after talking to Herminio on the phone and getting a rough ballpark number for installation costs, we went to the store and quickly found a hardwood style we liked.  The price was fair, and Herminio then came out, did measurements and gave us a total cost for replacing our carpet with the hardwood, with cedar in the closets too.  Once agreed, the wood showed up a couple days later, and Will and his small team the week after.  And what a great job they did!  We left the house to them, and they went at it non-stop until it was done.  Took care of all the details, moving furniture, etc., and cleaned up very nicely after themselves everyday.  And most polite and nice guys!  You're not going to find anyone better than Herminio, and if you can get him to install, Will.  We're very happy with our new floors!
